STILL FAST AS HECK

As a concept, the speed of light can seem abstract and hard to fathom. This visualization though helps us understand light speed in a whole new context.

Planetary scientist James O'Donoghue has made a video that shows how fast light speed can seem in some instances and how comparatively slow it can feel in others.

As you can see from the video, the speed of light, which is 186,282 miles per second, is so fast that it can orbit Earth 7.5 times in a second. On the other hand, it takes light more than eight minutes to travel from the Sun to the Earth, which feels snail-like once you've watched the video and seen how fast it zips between Earth and the moon, essentially taking only 1.255 seconds.
