This is funny, and it actually makes you think!

Comedian Jim Gaffigan recently posted a video portraying himself in a Catholic rectory talking to a talking statue of Jesus.

In the video entitled, “Barely Catholic,” Gaffigan goes back-and-forth with the talking statue, explaining why it is he can’t make it to Sunday Mass. None of his excuses impress Jesus!

This video definitely brings to light what God asks of us when it comes to our Catholic faith, and how we should put Him above all worldly things.

Jesus died on the cross for us, and loves us more than we could ever fathom! What is one hour per week at Mass compared to the sacrificial love Jesus expressed with his death on the cross?

In addition to being vocal about his faith in the video above, Jim Gaffigan was featured in a documentary about the image of Divine Mercy.

He and his wife, Jeannie, also delivered the commencement speech at Catholic University of America in 2016.

However, in June 2017 Jim tweeted support for gay pride.

The Catholic Church teaches that people who homosexual tendencies “must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity,” but that homosexual acts constitute “grave depravity,” are “intrinsically disordered,” and that “under no circumstances can they be approved.” Instead, “homosexual persons are called to chastity.” (CCC 2357-2359)
